广东省当代美术院为非盈利性艺术机构，2016年经广东省民政厅批准成立，首任院长蒋悦，现任院长金城。做为当代艺术创作研究和推广机构，本院设置创作、学术、策展与收藏部门，拥有大量21世纪和现当代艺术作品、史料，包括毕加索、马蒂斯、奈良美智、村上隆、宫崎骏、手冢治虫、埃尔热、常玉、丰子恺等艺术家作品原作。曾经在巴黎、布鲁塞尔、东京、大阪等地策划举办画展。

近年来，院藏作品数次被国务院新闻办公室、文旅部、广电总局、中国驻日本大使馆、中国美术馆、中华艺术宫、中国美术学院、中国对外文化集团有限公司、比利时驻广州总领事馆等机构借展，在国内外进行交流展出。

院长金城为当代艺术家，是第三届中国美术奖（2019）、第四届中国美术奖（2024）终评评委。

Guangdong Contemporary Art Centre

Guangdong Contemporary Art Centre is a non-profit art institution approved and established by the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province in 2016. Its inaugural president was Jiang Yue, and the current president is Jin Cheng. As an organization dedicated to contemporary art creation, research, and promotion, the museum comprises departments for creation, academic studies, curation, and collection. It holds an extensive collection of 21st-century and modern/contemporary artworks and historical materials, including original works by artists such as Pablo Picasso, ‌Henri Matisse, Yoshitomo Nara, Takashi Murakami, Hayao Miyazaki, Osamu Tezuka, Hergé, Sanyu and Feng Zikai. The institute has organized art exhibitions in cities including Paris, Brussels, Tokyo, and Osaka.

In recent years, works from the institution’s collection have been loaned for domestic and international exchange exhibitions by organizations including the State Council Information Office, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Radio and Television Administration, the Chinese Embassy in Japan, the China Art Centre, the China Art Palace, the China Academy of Art, the China International Culture Group Co., Ltd., and the Belgian Consulate General in Guangzhou, among others.

President Jin Cheng, a contemporary artist himself, served as a final judge for the 3rd China Art Award (2019) and the 4th China Art Award (2024).
